Engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is investing an estimated ₹4,500 crore to expand its digital infrastructure in West Bengal.
The capital is earmarked for a 30 MW Tier-3 data centre and the multi-phase expansion of a software park in Kolkata.
The software park expansion is projected to generate up to 25,000 direct jobs, potentially reversing the region's IT talent brain drain.
L&T is strategically pivoting from traditional civil contracting to becoming a "digital landlord," aiming to collect recurring rent from hyperscalers and AI startups.
