Karnataka will constitute two working groups, one with the Centre for e-Governance and one with the Home Department, to identify AI use cases across governance, education and innovation.
The announcement follows minister Priyank Kharge's visit to Anthropic's Bengaluru office, and an earlier meeting on 11 July 2026 with Anthropic India managing director Irina Ghose.
Discussions covered the use of existing government datasets, Claude certifications for skilling, and access for state startups and developers to Anthropic's tools.
No agreement has been signed. Membership, timelines, commercial terms, data-handling arrangements and any procurement path remain undisclosed.
