Reliance Industries intends to invest ₹1 trillion in compressed biogas plants in Andhra Pradesh, executive director Anant Ambani said on Friday.
He was speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture at Madanapalle. The horticulture hub itself carries an investment of ₹40,000 crore.
Ambani said the biogas projects could create more than 3 lakh jobs and generate close to ₹60,000 crore in revenue for the state over the coming decades. He framed the plan around farm incomes, saying farmers who secure India's food supply would now strengthen its energy security, and asked chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to treat him as a son of Andhra.
